ST. GEORGE - On Sept. 26, Washington County Chief Deputy Mary Reep was awarded Jail Commander of the Year for 2006 by the Utah Sheriff's Association. Reep is one of the highest ranking female officers in the state of Utah, said Lt. Jake Adams in a press release announcing the award.

A new charge has been filed against captured polygamist leader Warren Jeffs, accusing him of being a fugitive from the state of Arizona.
