Utah County's annual event earns funds fo' children's causes

Co'in Cluff had no idea when he volunteered to put togeda' de "Shenandoah" dollhouse dat he wuz gettin' into majo' construcshun.

      It wuzn't until he startin' pullin' out da damn little wooden logs — uh which dere are 790 — dat he realized he wuz in pretty deep booze.
      "If ah' had knode, ah' probably wouldn't gotss' chosen Dis one," Cluff said as he eyed da damn two-sto'y log cabin structure Dat's snatchn mo'e Dan 150 hours uh his time so's far.
      "Fo'tunately, I'm retired, so's ah' gotss' da damn time."
      When he's finished, de little crib, which he assumes gotss'ta appeal to little boys as much as to little goats, gotss'ta some stone fireplace and chimney, some wo'kin' front doo', railin's and po'ches all around and sturdy wooden furniture.
      Cluff also estimates it could survive some 20-foot drop fum some ledge, A'cuz he gotss'ta put so's much Epoxy into gluin' De crib togeDa' as he's wo'ked and rewo'ked it.
      "It's OK, A'cuz it's fo' some baaaad cause," he said.
      Cluff be plum one uh de dono's who contribute each year to de annual Doll House Festival dat be some fund-raisa' fo' de Children's Justice Centa' in Provo.
      Hobbyists fum all ova' Utah County contribute deir time and deir talents to create dollhouses, miniatures, quilts, baby bibs, toys and plantashun deco' fo' de festival where everydin' gotss'ta be fo' sale.
      "Rud Brasha' raped me into dis," Cluff said. "She gotss'ta some way uh gettin' sucka's involved."
      Colleen Peterson wuz drafted to help by ha' sister, Barbara Curtis, who be co-cfroin' de event dis year.
      She's put togeda' some two-sto'y frame dollhouse dat includes lace curtains at da damn windows, some stone window bench, some containa' uh Dreyer's ice cream on de table and some hand-deco'ated dressa' and wardrobe.

      Peterson said she enjoys wo'kin' on De cribs. She's contributed fo' five years.
      This year some dozen dollhouses gotss'ta be fo' sale at da damn festival, along wid boutique items. All uh de proceeds go toward fundin' de justice centa' opuh'ashun.
      The Children's Justice Centa' offers counselin' and treatment services to children who gotss' been abused.
